-Ontario Projects focused in Gowganda region, where approximately 60 million ounces of silver were mined in the early 1900s -Reviving past-producing mines in Slocan Silver camp of British Columbia
Klondike Silver has acquired and staked the largest land package in the Gowganda Silver Camp, one of the original silver camps in Ontario and Canada. It has completed airborne geophysical surveys over all the properties with the latest VTEM airborne system. The plan for these properties is to identify potential silver veins and structures hidden beneath the soil and glacial till that were not found by the original prospectors and miners. Other projects in Klondike Silver's extensive portfolio of silver assets are situated in known silver districts in the Yukon Territory, British Columbia, and the Sierra Madre Mineral Belt of Mexico.
In British Columbia, recent exploration and development activities have focused on reviving the historic Slocan Silver Camp, where the Company holds 10,000 hectares of claims and crown grants, numerous past-producing mines and a fully permitted and operating 100-tonne-per-day mill near the historic mining town of Sandon.
Underground exploration is continuing at the Wonderful Mine, where recent chip-sampling on two lower levels has returned encouraging results of up to 50.25% zinc. The latest highlights from these levels include: 29.86% zinc, 7.09% lead and 228 g/t (6.65 oz/t) silver over 47 cm and 22.7% zinc, 15.3% lead, 300 g/t (8.75 oz/t) silver over 55 cm. A newly completed drill station of Level 4 will allow testing of the eastern extent of mineralization between levels 4 and 3 and the delineation of resources.
Exploration continues at the past-producing Silvana Mine, with westward drifting taking place toward the historical workings of the Standard and Mammoth Mines. These and other historic mines in the Sandon camp collectively produced 25.81 million ounces of silver, 227.97 million pounds of lead and 121.95 million pounds of zinc.
These properties offer excellent potential for new discoveries as the Slocan District has seen little exploration using modern exploration methods and advanced technologies.
