BioMS Medical has obtained an exclusive worldwide license to a proprietary technology developed at the University of Alberta for the treatment of MS. The technology, MBP8298, is a synthetic myelin basic protein peptide comprised of 17 amino acids which is intravenously injected into MS patients as a therapeutic treatment. The compound is currently being evaluated in two pivotal phase III clinical trials in secondary progressive MS (SPMS) and one phase II clinical trial in relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS).
